Though nose piercing is practiced throughout the world, it is most commonly associated with India. Typically, women in India who opt for the piercing will get the outside left nostril pierced. According to Ayurvedic medicine, the left nostril is associated with female reproductive organ, so a piercing at the site is supposed to ease child birth.

Nose piercings are also a symbol of social standing, and in the Hindu tradition, honors the goddess Parvati. Some women from Maharashtra wear large, ornate nose jewelry that covers a large portion of their face.

There are two general types of earrings – the pierced and the clip-on. The pierced variety comes in different styles that range from the stud to the chandelier or drop type. In between are the pendants, various dangling earrings and hoops. Clip- on earrings follows the same styles. The only difference is that they are clipped on the ears rather than attached though a piercing in the ears.

If you are November-born, you will probably be interested in citrine earrings. Citrine is quartz whose color range from yellow to gold. It is called by different names. As ‘stone of the mind’, it is supposed to increase psychic power according to ancient cultures. In modern times, it is known as the lucky ‘Merchant’s Stone’. If placed in the cash drawer, it is supposed to draw in sales.

There is a resurgence in the popularity of the ever classy timepiece known as the pocket watch. This stylish timepiece has been ticking away the hours for nearly 500 years now. One of my favorite designs for this watch is the coin pocket watch. This watch is a polished engravable silvertone timepiece with a genuine liberty silver half dollar embedded on the front of the case.

It features quartz movement, black hands and black Roman numerals set on a light gray chapter ring. The dial is assembled using the back of the genuine liberty silver half dollar. It also comes packaged attractively in a deluxe wooden box with a matching 12″ chain. I came across this pocket watch while I was searching the Internet for a gift for my Dad. I’m going to buy him one and buy one for myself as well.

Body piercing is fast gaining popularity these days, specially among the younger generation. You can have a part of your body pierced at a body piercing parlor. Some adventurous people even do their own body piercing. A piercing needle is the most common piercing tool as it performs the piercing function that is done by a needle.

In case you want to do your own body piercing, always remember to use a sterile piercing tool. This will lessen the chance of the skin of the newly pierced area being infected. You also need to use a cleaning and healing solution that is available over the counter at drugstores. After piercing a part of your body, it is also advisable to use a type of body jewelry made of surgical steel, as this has been proven to cause the least reaction to human skin.
