Useful Works of Art
My wife loves to collect jewelry. She doesn’t even like to wear them that much but she just loves to look at them and sort them out. For her birthday this year, I got her one of these wood jewelry boxes handcrafted to perfection. She almost cried when she saw it as it was a wonderful work of art in itself. I love the workmanship done on this jewelry box because it is elegant in its simplicity.
It is made from mahogany and it only has two pull out drawers. The insides are lined with red velvet which makes the contrast to the wood absolutely beautiful. There are carvings on the front of the box which adds to its elegance and it is quite heavy for its size if you’ll ask me. But my wife definitely loves it which is the most important thing. The only problem I have is that my wife is now saying she will start collecting jewelry boxes instead.
One of a Kind
A citrine is a yellow version of quartz which is also known as a gold or Spanish topaz. It is one of the less expensive stones making it a favorite for fashion jewelers. They are able to create unique citrine rings which they can sell to people who cannot afford the more expensive types of jewelry. Citrine is often associated with the brown topaz because both are November birthstones.
Citrine is associated with lightheartedness, self-confidence and self-esteem. In alternative medicine lore, the citrine’s colors are said to be a natural cure for depression. You won’t lose anything by trying this out. If you have a friend or a loved one who is suffering from depression, try giving them a citrine ring. In case it doesn’t work, you will still have cheered them up.
