I would like to share with you one of the most endearing and tricky marriage proposals that my grandfather told me ages ago. Grandpa once knew a man who was such a coward that he was always afraid to do something or try something new. It was a wonder that this man had a long-time girlfriend that he wished to marry but never had the guts to ask. The man was so afraid to be turned down and asked my grandpa’s advise. Grandpa told the man not to ask at all.

Grandpa made a deal with the man and told him that all the man had to do was to buy an engagement ring, put it in one of the jewelry safes at the jewelry store, and, if his girlfriend was able to pick the safe with the ring in it, then the man would have immediately proposed without saying a thing at all. It would also be a sign that it they were meant to be married. If the girlfriend did not choose the right safe, then the man would not have to go through the humiliation of being turned down. The man agreed, did as he was instructed and took his girlfriend to the jewlery store. She picked a safe and in it, the ring. The girlfriend immediately said yes and both were very happy.
